Day's 5 and 6

Day 5 was a great day. I lounged around all day and relaxed. I didn't really eat "meals" today as I kind of just picked at things. I ended up going out for the night and just as Beth thought I had to go for a pizza at 2 am. Just cheese though, so hah, Im still going strong.

Breakfast: egg and cheese sandwich, strawberries w/whipped cream
Other food: chips w/salsa and sour cream, more strawberries, pizza

Day 6 was another lay around sleep and do nothing day. I slept wayyy to much though. Im thinking Im getting a b12 deficiency, but from what Ive read you have a build up of it in your liver and I dont think I could be deficient after only 6 days. Who knows though. Ive also had a loss of appetite. I never really feel hungry.

Breakfast: eggs, toast
Dinner: tomato and mozerella sandwich, salad, sorbet

Day 4

One odd thing I'm noticing is that I rarely ever feel hungry, but that could be due to all the freaking water I've been drinking. Either way I'm feeling good and things are going well. Here's to the weekend...

Breakfast:
fruit/yogurt smoothie
Lunch: (Hoss's!) salad, nachos, ice cream
Dinner: Chips and salsa

Day 3

I definitely think Im eating healthier now, which is obviously a good thing. It's not that I think meat isnt healthy, but since Im not eating it I have to put much more effort into planning meals whereas before I'd just run out to Sheetz or Wendy's for lunch. Day 4 will surly entail going out to lunch at either Hoss's or Jade Garden which Im ok with. (Although I'd definitely prefer Hoss's cuz all I can eat at Jade Garden is lo mein and doughnuts.)

Heres the breakdown again...

Breakfast: cereal, fruit & nut bar
Snack: honey roasted nuts
Lunch: salad, edamame, celery w/peanut butter, apple, reese big cup
Dinner: salad, pasta, bread

Day Dos

Honestly Im not sure what to say about this situation cuz its going well. I have no complaints.

Oh, so I passed out at about 5:30ish and didnt wake up from my "nap" until 10. Then I ate some strawberry sorbet and went back to bed. It was glorious, and I dont think it has anything to do with not eating meat. Day three is def going to have to include some sort of hot meal cuz ive been eating all fresh cold stuff for two days. Maybe I'll make that indian meal I bought at trader joes!

Breakfast: peanutbutter toast
Lunch: salad, coleslaw, pb&j sandwich, half an apple, edamame
Snack: peanut m&m's
Dinner: strawberry sorbet

p.s. hi anna

Day 1

So really this isnt that bad at all. Day one went off without a hitch and honestly I dont even crave any chicken or burgers or anything (yet). I went to the grocery store after work and purchased a lot of meatless foods. Mostly its fruits and veges, but I also got some stuff like this indian food packet and gnocchi from Trader Joes.

Im not sure a run down of my meals is absolutely necessary, but since I havent decided that I'm going to do so I dont regret not doing it later.

Breakfast: strawberry yougart, potato salad
Lunch: veggie sub from Subway, cake
Dinner: chips w/salsa & sour cream, baguette sandwich with tomato, mozzarella and dressing

Seriously, what am I thinking

So last night I got the bright idea to go vegetarian for 30 days to see how it feels. I was all about it last night when my stomach was full from wings, but of course this morning I wasnt exactly too sure about things. I have decided though to go for it due to a conversation I had with my boss yesterday about there not being much to "life". He told me I should set a goal and work for it, but he was refering to my love of traveling not trying to go vegetarian.

What the hell though, right? I know most of my friends with think its crazy, but who cares. I really just want to see if I can commit to something and stick with it. I read an article a few weeks ago by this guy, Pavlina or something, that says commit to something for 30 days and then it may just get ingrained in you. Not that I want to be a vegetarian forever cuz meat is awesome, but maybe the next 30 days I'll try giving up something else or do something like exercizing everyday for 30 days.

Anyway, Im not positive who all Im going to show this little blog to, but I want to keep a record for myself of how this little experiment goes. Wish me luck....I'm gonna need it.
